Writing Professional Emails
Proven strategies to communicate effectively, save time, and make a powerful professional impression in every message
Email is one of the most common tools at work but can also be one of the most frustrating. Messages get ignored, misunderstood, or delayed, even when the information is accurate. The problem isn’t effort; it’s how emails are written. Too often, they’re unclear, hard to scan, or missing the point, which creates extra work for everyone.
Write emails that prioritize the reader’s needs and attention.
Design emails that are easy to scan and act on quickly.
Communicate concisely while maintaining a professional, human tone.

Read MoreThis course was exactly what I needed to improve my email writing and relationships. Erin does a magnificent job of distilling information into key points and bite-sized chunks you can use immediately. Her ability to share the most common mistakes and ways to overcome them is simple yet elegant. Each module is short enough to absorb what you need, yet long enough to try it and see how it works for you. Her examples are straight from everyday email problems, and her solutions are practical. Even though I was familiar with some of the concepts, the time was well spent upskilling in this area. I've already seen a difference in what I send out and the type of responses I get. Well done, Erin!

“As a college professor who writes multiple emails daily and has to give consistent, meaningful, and clear feedback to students I really appreciate High-Value Writing. It has helped me to be more precise in my wording and more concise. My students are better able to understand the points I'm trying to make and there is overall, less frustration and confusion for us all.”– Heather Aydelott, Professor, New Mexico, USA |
“As an editor and copywriter, I often debate word choices with my clients. High-Value Writing gave me the language and evidence to explain why some words are or are not effective in specific contexts. Assigning value to words based on the efficacy with which they communicate the intended message (or unintended messages) is a highly useful skill that allows me to take abstract, subjective language concepts and apply them in more concrete, objective terms. Thank you Erin for equipping me with the tools to do this!”– Skylar Griego, Editor and Copywriter, Arizona, USA |
