Each self-paced High-Value Writing course includes an introductory welcome unit, 3-6 main units of core curriculum, and a wrap-up unit. Each unit contains videos explaining concepts, with examples to illustrate and apply learning. You'll watch videos and answer reflective questions in each unit.
Yes. While the courses are video-based and include reflection questions, they also include two downloadable takeaways: A Syllabus listing learning objectives and course description, and a Course Reference Sheet offering a one-page review of the course concepts.
All you need is an internet connection, the ability to watch videos and hear audio, and a place to take notes. Each course asks you to practice sentence revisions, so you'll want a place to write down those notes.
You will receive a Certificate of Completion when you complete your High-Value Writing course. You can also download a Course Reference Sheet with the main points from the class. Each of these can be printed and shared.
Yes. Each course includes two types of practice opportunities: (1) reflection questions to check your understanding, and (2) revision opportunities to practice writing strategies.
No. The courses teach through videos, and all the materials you'll need for your course are included in the registration. However, some students like to read the book for extra support.
